TEHRAN -- Singer Pari Maleki is sharing her musical experience at the Khonya Music Institute, her newly-established educational center.

“The institute was inaugurated in Tehran’s Yusefabad neighborhood with special ceremony, which was attended by masters including Esmaeil Tehran, Soheila Purgerami, Jalal Purseyyed and Ali Badakhshani,” Maleki told the Persian service of Honaronline on Friday.
“Today, I believe that my 30 years of efforts in music should bear fruit,” she added.
Maleki, who is also the leader of Khonya Ensemble, said, “Works of eminent music teachers at each educational center is the key to success and the Khonya Music Institute is no exception.”
Maleki, 64, has previously held courses in private and at the Rudaki Foundation, a center for music education affiliated with the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance.
She said that her classes at the Rudaki Foundation were packed with students.
The institute plans to hold master classes and workshops in order to raise public music cultural awareness.
She founded the Khonya Ensemble in 1994 and has performed numerous concerts. Female singers are not allowed to perform solo for an audience of men in Iran. Thus, the group shifted to choral performances to permit males in the audience at its concerts.
